The Provincial Conference (Musprov) of the Jakarta Chapter of the Indonesian Triathlon Federation (FTI) for 2024 has officially appointed Michelle Elizabeth Surjaputra as the Chairperson for the 2024-2028 term.

The meeting, led by the Secretary General of the FTI, Ahyar, and supported by the previous Chairperson Dedi Supriadi and former board member Fatah Nurdin, took place smoothly on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Arion Suites Kemang Hotel in South Jakarta.

Noval Abuzar, the Chair of the Musprov organizing committee, stated that the election of the Chairperson went well and followed FTI's organizational rules, starting from the selection process, which was announced on the social media account @triathlonjakarta.

“I am grateful for how everything went, and I congratulate the new board, especially Ms. Michelle,” Noval said.

Meanwhile, newly elected Chairperson Michelle Elizabeth Surjaputra, a businesswoman, expressed her happiness and honor in being entrusted with this role.

“I hope we can work together to run this organization, as Mr. Ahyar mentioned, to send our athletes to the Olympics,” she said with optimism.

At the same event, Dedi Supriadi, the Chairperson of FTI DKI Jakarta for 2020-2024, noted that the Musprov unanimously elected Michelle Elizabeth Surjaputra as Chairperson, wishing for her to lead Jakarta Triathlon to achieve success in the PON, SEA Games, Asian Games, and on the international stage.

Dedi expressed his best wishes to Bu Michelle, saying, "Good luck with your duties," as she takes on her role in leading FTI DKI Jakarta within KONI DKI Jakarta.

On another note, Ahyar, the Secretary General of PP FTI, hopes for significant changes under Michelle's leadership. He believes she can create the best breakthroughs to improve FTI DKI Jakarta in the future.

He stated, "We hope DKI Jakarta becomes a role model for FTI colleagues across Indonesia."

Ahyar also mentioned that DKI has sufficient resources, including human capital, finances, and athletes. Therefore, DKI should rank among the top positions in every event, but so far, it has only been a participant.

"There hasn't been much excitement in the events held, but improvements are expected under Bu Michelle's leadership. Strong communication and collaboration with various parties are essential to advance our goals," he concluded.
