After Exporting Bread Dough To Arab, The Minister Of Trade Invites Business Players To Enhance The Product Image

Monday, 25 Nov 2024

Trade Minister Budi Santoso launched the export of bread dough produced by PT Juara Roti Indonesia to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Klaten, Central Java on Friday, November 22. This export of Roti Ropi brand dough marks the eighth export for this micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME). In addition to the dough export, Minister Budi also laid the foundation stone for the Roti Ropi bakery.

Minister Budi stated that Indonesian MSME products have better quality and competitiveness compared to those from other countries. However, he emphasized the need for a positive image to successfully sell products abroad.

"Let’s build the image of Indonesian products in every aspect. Even with good quality and competitiveness, some countries still view Indonesian products differently. This affects our sales in international markets," said Minister Budi.

He noted that out of the total number of MSMEs, only about 3.74 percent are consistently growing, including Roti Ropi. "If more MSMEs continue to develop consistently in the future, their contribution to Indonesia's economy will be much greater," Minister Budi added.

He also mentioned that the Ministry of Trade has provided various facilities to support MSME growth, including the UMKM Berani Inovasi, Siap Adaptasi Ekspor (UMKM BISA Ekspor) program. This program is one of the Ministry's main initiatives alongside the Domestic Market Protection Program and Export Market Expansion.

"The Ministry has three programs, one of which is UMKM BISA Ekspor. Through this program, we provide assistance and training. We will also help with marketing through over 40 trade representatives in partner countries," explained Minister Budi.

PT Juara Roti Indonesia is an Indonesian company known for its premium quality bread and coffee products. Currently, the company operates 70 outlets across Indonesia and 5 outlets in the UAE. Soon, the company hopes to open a branch in Egypt.

From January to September 2024, Indonesia's processed food exports to the global market reached USD 4 billion, growing by 6.9 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Over the last five years (2019–2023), the trend of Indonesia's processed food exports has increased by 6.81 percent.
