Inspirational Friends Of Pelindo Provide Soft Skill And Hard Skill Training For Students

PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) has launched a training program focused on both soft and hard skills for 69 final-year students and recent graduates with disabilities from across Indonesia. This initiative is part of the Pelindo Inspirational Friends TJSL Program, aimed at empowering communities, especially those with disabilities, to enhance their skills to meet industry needs and inspire others with disabilities.

Ihsanuddin Usman, the Director of HR and General Affairs at Pelindo, stated that this program is uniquely designed to prepare individuals with disabilities for the job market, supporting the Sustainable Development Goals. “It includes training in technical skills like digital technology and data management, as well as boosting self-confidence and communication skills. The program is delivered through various platforms, including WhatsApp groups, the Learning Management System (LMS) setaraberdaya.com, and virtual meetings,” he explained.

The Pelindo Inspirational Friends Program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in quality education (Goal 4), decent work and economic growth (Goal 8), and reducing inequalities (Goal 10).

“We hope this program will empower individuals with disabilities to enhance their competitiveness in the job market. We also aim to ensure they have equal opportunities to contribute to sustainable economic development,” he added.

Data indicates that individuals with disabilities still face significant barriers to entering the formal job market. Many lack access to relevant training and equal job opportunities, despite their considerable potential.

Ardhy Wahyu Basuki, Group Head of the Secretariat at PT Pelindo, mentioned that Pelindo is collaborating with Alunjiva Indonesia to bridge the gap by developing competitive talent among people with disabilities across various sectors, including private industry, state-owned enterprises, and other business units.

"This program reflects our corporate social responsibility and aligns with Pelindo's vision to support inclusive and sustainable economic development. With our commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities, we aim to nurture a generation that can compete in the global job market while making a real contribution to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 10, which focuses on reducing inequalities," he stated.
