KAI And Its Partner UMK Have Been Awarded The Title Of The Best Creative Accessories Brand At The International Exhibition In Turkey

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), commonly known as KAI, in collaboration with Mitra UMK Year Handmade, has been awarded the title of The Best Creative Accessories Brand at an international exhibition held in Istanbul, Turkey. Anne Purba, the Vice President of Public Relations at KAI, stated that this accolade serves as evidence of the significant potential for Indonesian UMK products to compete with international brands in terms of quality and creativity. "The presence of Mitra UMK is not merely about showcasing products; it is also about introducing the meaning and added value behind each of their creations to the world," she remarked in a written statement on Monday, December 9, 2024. Furthermore, the participation of Year Handmade and Imah Batik Bandung reflects KAI's commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, which focuses on Decent Work and Economic Growth.

This initiative not only aids Mitra UMK in expanding their international networks but also opens avenues for exports, highlights Indonesia's flagship products, and enhances their competitiveness in the global market. "We firmly believe that Indonesian local products possess immense potential to gain recognition and popularity in international markets," Anne added. During the event, KAI showcased batik and weaving demonstrations featuring designs and styles tailored for visitors, as well as for designers from Turkey and Europe.

The motifs presented not only highlight product quality but also convey inspirational value. It is important to note that this exhibition is part of the 10th World Halal Expo 2024, an initiative launched by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which took place from November 27 to 30, 2024. The event also included the World Halal Summit, aimed at connecting business operators from various countries to showcase creativity and innovation in the fields of fashion and art. The exhibition attracted over 500 participants from 50 countries, with visitor numbers reaching 50,000 from 110 countries.
