Trade Minister Budi Santoso and Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan checked the prices and supply of essential goods at Dukuh Kupang Market in Surabaya, East Java, today, Friday (20/12). According to Minister Zulkifli Hasan, the supply of essential goods in the market is sufficient, and prices are generally stable, although there has been a slight decrease in some commodities.
Accompanying Minister Budi Santoso was Mardyana Listyowati, the Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade. Also present was Dewi Soriyawati, the Head of the Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises, and Trade Office of Surabaya.
"Our food stock is secure, with enough goods to meet the community's needs during the holiday season. Prices are mostly stable, and some commodities have seen a slight drop," said Minister Zulkifli Hasan.
At Dukuh Kupang Market, several essential goods were priced below the highest retail price or reference price, including large red chili at Rp40,000/kg, curly red chili at Rp40,000/kg, red onions at Rp37,000/kg, beef at Rp115,000/kg, broiler chicken at Rp35,000/kg, and granulated sugar at Rp17,000/kg.
Additionally, some essential goods were priced according to the reference price and remained stable, such as premium rice at Rp14,000/kg, Bulog rice at Rp62,500 for 5 kg, Minyakita at Rp15,700/liter, and broiler eggs at Rp30,000. Meanwhile, the price of premium packaged cooking oil Sunco was recorded at Rp39,000 for 2 liters, red chili at Rp55,000/kg, and garlic at Rp42,000/kg.
Minister Budi Santoso assured that the Ministry of Trade is committed to continuously monitoring prices and stock of essential goods intensively across various markets in Indonesia until Christmas and New Year. "We will keep monitoring prices and supplies of essential goods to ensure they remain stable during the holiday season." We are committed to ensuring that the community can celebrate the holiday season peacefully, without worrying about shortages or price increases of essential goods," concluded Minister of Trade Budi Santoso.
The day before, Minister Budi Santoso visited Madyopuro Market in Malang, East Java, on December 19. Overall, the supply of essential goods is sufficient and prices are relatively stable in East Java as the holiday season approaches.
