innovator with nearly 50 years of experience. It supports the digital transformation of businesses through two main areas: solutions and consulting, and ICT distribution. The company focuses on enhancing human resources in information technology. One of its units, Metrodata Academy, plays a key role in improving digital literacy and developing digital talent in Indonesia.
Indonesia is projected to need around 9 million digital talents by 2030, as stated by the Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid.
In response to this demand, Metrodata Academy has established four pillars for developing ICT human resources: Metrodata Training, Metrodata IT Camp, Metrodata Internship, and Metrodata Mengajar. These pillars aim to connect job seekers with the needs of the job market.
Metrodata Academy offers training in areas such as awareness, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data and AI, and development skills, providing over 350 training modules and internationally recognized certifications from organizations like CompTIA, EC-Council, Huawei, Microsoft, Oracle, and Red Hat.
For internships, Metrodata Academy provides opportunities for students to engage in internships and independent studies. Since 2021, it has partnered with the Digital Talent Scholarship from the Ministry of Communication and Information and the Merdeka Campus program from the Ministry of Education and Culture. Metrodata Academy has been involved since the program's inception and has supported over 1,800 students through seven cohorts. Metrodata IT Camp, part of Metrodata Academy, is a training program for new graduates who join Metrodata as employees. With modules developed in collaboration with global technology partners like CompTIA and EC-Council, participants are prepared to earn international certifications through a vendor-neutral curriculum.
Currently, nearly 5% of Metrodata Internship participants have been hired as Metrodata employees while they await their college graduation. This highlights the important role of Metrodata Academy in ensuring a steady supply of quality IT talent to support the company's growth.
"We are not just focused on being an educational institution; we cover everything from technology, education, implementation, to operations. Our goal is to enhance human resources in the IT field and develop skilled digital talents," said MTDL President Director, Susanto Djaja.
In every digital literacy development activity, Metrodata emphasizes inclusivity and challenges the myth that women are underrepresented in technology. By promoting equality, Metrodata Academy demonstrates that everyone, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities to gain strong digital literacy. This commitment to inclusivity is reflected in the leadership, staff, and participants of Metrodata Academy, which increasingly includes women.
"Metrodata Academy exists today thanks to the collective efforts of all involved. However, we must not forget the contributions of remarkable women, such as Ms. Susilowati, the former head of Metrodata Academy, and Ms. Marlina Je, the current head. Be confident women, take responsibility to continuously improve your skills, and together we can reach greater heights."
