PPKGBK Has Taken Further Security Measures For BMN Block 14

The Gelora Bung Karno Area Management Center (PPKGBK) has taken further security measures regarding state-owned assets, specifically the land and buildings in Block 14, known as the Jakarta Convention Center. This security action, along with the control of Block 14, is supported by law enforcement agencies, including the police, the Indonesian National Army, and the Civil Service Police Unit.

Securing Block 14 is necessary to enforce Article 8.1, which PT GSP has not complied with. This article requires the handover of the JCC building (Block 14) after the expiration of the Build-Operate-Transfer Agreement on October 21, 2024.

The security measures are carried out proportionally, focusing on persuasive efforts to prevent violence. Currently, the PPKGBK team has control over all areas of Block 14, both inside and outside, while ensuring that all equipment remains available for regular activities.

The commitment to ongoing and future events at Block 14 is respected, and PPKGBK guarantees that events such as graduations and wedding receptions can proceed as planned, provided there is prior coordination with PPKGBK.

The Ministry of State Secretariat fully supports the security and control of Block 14, as evidenced by the presence of Deputy Minister Bambang Eko Suhariyanto and Secretary Setya Utama, who toured Block 14 to ensure the security measures are in place.

After the tour, the Deputy Minister stated that he has reviewed the Cooperation Agreement and confirmed that it indeed expired on October 21, 2024, along with the obligation to hand over Block 14.

PT GSP continues to rent out BMN Block 14 for various events even after the agreement has ended.
