Samsung has long been rumored to release the Galaxy Z Flip Fan Edition at a more affordable price this year. However, recent reports suggest that the launch of this 'budget' foldable phone will be postponed. According to a report from South Korea, Samsung has delayed the release of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE and the still-mysterious three-foldable phone until the fourth quarter of 2025. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE was previously expected to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025, but it appears that fans of Samsung's foldable devices will have to wait a bit longer. The report does not specify the reasons behind the delay, but it seems that Samsung Display is prioritizing the production of foldable screens for its flagship devices first, followed by those for more affordable models and new form factors.
Samsung is reportedly already producing foldable screens for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, both of which are expected to launch on schedule in July or August of this year, as cited by Android Police on April 22, 2025. Currently, there are several leaks showcasing the design and specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.
The circulating renders indicate that this foldable phone features a cover screen shaped like a folder, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. In terms of hardware, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is rumored to utilize the Exynos 2500 or Exynos 2400 chipset with 8GB of RAM. This phone is expected to have the same camera configuration as the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Meanwhile, the three-foldable phone from Samsung remains a mystery. This competitor to the Huawei Mate XT is rumored to be named 'Galaxy G Fold'.
