The Rise Of Cyber Threats Prompts Technology Companies To Collaborate In Enhancing Digital Security

Friday, 25 Apr 2025

The threat of cyber security in Indonesia continues to exhibit a concerning trend. This situation underscores the necessity for cross-sector collaboration to enhance the national digital security system. According to data from AwanPintar.id, approximately 2.5 billion cyber attacks were recorded in Indonesia throughout 2024, equating to 158 attacks every second. This figure represents a staggering increase of 619.9 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

The majority of these attacks aim to gain unauthorized administrative access, both domestically and internationally. In response to this issue, a recent initiative has emerged from the technology distribution company PT Synnex Metrodata Indonesia (SMI), which announced a strategic partnership with the global cyber security firm eMudhra to introduce Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions in Indonesia. 'Our partnership with eMudhra is a direct response to the escalating cyber security challenges faced by organizations in Indonesia,' stated Lie Heng, Director of PT Synnex Metrodata Indonesia, in a press release on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

'We are confident that this solution will expedite the strengthening of cyber security in Indonesia,' he added. Through this collaboration, SMI will serve as the distributor and partner of eMudhra in Indonesia, targeting critical sectors such as banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), telecommunications, government, and manufacturing. eMudhra will provide five key solutions based on Public Key Infrastructure, ranging from digital signature solutions to digital certificate lifecycle management. 'Our solutions are designed to build organizational resilience and provide a gold standard in cyber security for authentication and authorization,' remarked Michael Tanong, President Director of eMudhra Indonesia.
