Through "The Most Holding", The Ministry Of Health Invites Teenagers To Implement A Healthy Lifestyle

, 04 May 2025

The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) continues to strengthen its commitment to building a healthy generation through a community-based and digital approach. One of these efforts was realized through the "Si Paling Megang" roadshow which was held on Saturday (26/4/2025) at the 27 September GOR, Mulawarman University, Samarinda, East Kalimantan. The Director of Health Promotion and Community Health of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, dr. Elvieda Sariwati, M.Epid, said that it is important to introduce a healthy lifestyle to the younger generation to prevent a spike in non-communicable diseases in the future. "We see the phenomenon of increasing prevalence of obesity, diabetes, and hypertension among adolescents. This is largely triggered by high consumption patterns of sugar, salt, fat, and minimal physical activity. This program is a strategic response to overcome these challenges," said Dr. Elvieda, as quoted by Antara, Sunday (27/4/2025).

The "Si Paling Megang" campaign, an acronym for Menyala dengan Gerak dan Gizi Seimbang, was developed to invite adolescents to implement a nutritious diet and routine physical activity with an approach that is relevant to their daily lives.

Through a combination of online activities such as workshops and social media content, as well as offline activities in the form of roadshows, the Ministry of Health seeks to build awareness of healthy living among young people. In the activity in Samarinda, more than 150 teenagers participated in various activities, such as a healthy walk, a talk show about nutrition and physical activity with Dr. Joko Purnomo Heroanto, Sp.A, and Zaynna, East Kalimantan Tourism Ambassador 2021. Participants were also invited to take part in interactive games, such as scavenger hunts and health quizzes. "Through this fun method, we want to show that healthy living doesn't have to be boring or difficult. In fact, with fun activities, we can build good habits from an early age," said Dr. Elvieda.
