Samsung's Strategy To Bring AI Closer To Everyone

Thursday, 08 May 2025

Imagine being able to search for information just by circling an image on your phone screen. Or, deleting unwanted photo objects with just one touch.

Dream? No. This is the reality brought by artificial intelligence (AI), and Samsung is determined to make it accessible to more people.

According to Harry Lee, President of Samsung Electronics Indonesia, AI has experienced rapid development in recent years. "AI is no longer an exclusive technology for scientists or large companies. Now, AI is in the hands of millions of people, helping them work more efficiently, create more freely, and interact more easily," he said.

One real proof is the Circle to Search with Google feature introduced on the Galaxy S24 Series. This feature allows users to get instant information just by circling an object on the screen.

"In the first few months, 92 percent of users used this feature. This shows that people want technology that is practical, fast, and relevant," added Harry.

However, Harry Lee realized that access to sophisticated technology is often limited to high-end (flagship) devices that are relatively expensive. This creates a digital divide, where not everyone can enjoy the convenience offered by AI.

"In the past, AI features were only available on premium devices that not everyone could afford. This is the paradigm we want to change," said Harry Lee.

As a concrete step to 'ground' AI, Samsung is bringing a number of smart features to its popular mid-range smartphone line, namely the latest generation Galaxy A Series.

"Through the Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A26 5G, we are bringing AI technology to more people. This is not just about sales, but a commitment to reducing the digital divide and opening up wider opportunities," he explained.

This step specifically targets the younger generation, especially Gen Z, who are known to be very adaptive to new technology and active in the digital world, especially social media. For them, AI is no longer just a productivity tool, but also a driver of creativity.

Samsung equips the latest Galaxy A Series with AI features that support this dynamic lifestyle. For example, the Object Eraser feature that allows users to remove unwanted objects or shadows from photos, is now available on the three new Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 models.
