Samsung today officially opened the pre-order period for the flagship Galaxy S25 Edge phone, which boasts a very thin and lightweight design.
"We present the S25 Edge, the thinnest Galaxy S series we have ever launched, but we have not reduced the specifications too much. This means that the flagship camera is still there and its performance is powerful," said MX Product Marketing Senior Manager Samsung Electronics Indonesia Ilham Indrawan in Jakarta, Monday.
The phone comes with a thickness of only 5.8 millimeters and weighs 163 grams, offering a slim and lightweight design.
Despite its thin body, the S25 Edge is equipped with high-end camera capabilities equivalent to the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra model. The device is equipped with a 200-megapixel wide-angle main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens for a wide shooting range.
Samsung includes all of Galaxy's artificial intelligence (AI)-based editing tools available in the S25 series. The S25 Edge is powered by the latest exclusive Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is available in three colors, namely Titanium Silver, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Ice Blue, with storage variants of 256 GB and 512 GB.
Ilham explained that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was presented to the Indonesian market to answer the needs of consumers who want a smartphone with a flagship quality camera equivalent to the S25 Ultra series, but has a light and thin design.
In terms of battery, the Galaxy S25 Edge has a capacity of 3900 mAh or the lowest in the S25 series. However, according to Ilham, the shortcomings in terms of battery capacity can be overcome by the ability to efficiently use power thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and the One UI 7 feature.
The pre-order period for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge runs from May 26 to June 5, 2025. This smartphone is sold at a price of IDR 19,499 million for the 12/256 GB variant and IDR 21,499 million for the 12/512 GB variant.
