Positive Tech Recruits 4 Indonesian Institutions To Train Cybersecurity Talents

Thursday, 05 Jun 2025

Russian cybersecurity company Positive Technologies has partnered with four educational institutions from Indonesia to train digital cybersecurity talents so that they can become qualified digital security professionals.

The four educational institutions from Indonesia are Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta, NU University of West Nusa Tenggara, University of Indonesia Alumni Business Center, and Sakuranesia Foundation.

"Our collaboration will help students and lecturers in Indonesia to gain the best practical knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity," Positive Technologies CEO Denis Baranov said in a statement received in Jakarta, Monday.

This collaboration focuses on improving the skills of cybersecurity professionals in Southeast Asia. Some of the things that will be realized include the construction of practical cybersecurity training facilities, training for teaching staff, development of courses on offensive security, defensive security, and secure software development practices.

As part of this initiative, Positive Technologies' EdTechLab cyber simulation platform will be implemented by these universities to support practical cybersecurity training.

This collaboration is also based on findings on the condition of cybersecurity in Indonesia. Based on the latest Positive Technologies study, the majority of advertisements on dark web forums (28 percent) in Southeast Asia are related to Indonesia.

Analysis of posts on the dark web also revealed that the science and education sectors are among the top five sectors most vulnerable to hacker attacks in the Southeast Asia region.

Another finding showed that 62 percent of all successful cyber attacks on organizations in Indonesia resulted in data leaks.

Although in recent years Indonesia has made significant efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and expand digital literacy, the rapid rate of adoption of digital technology requires more extra efforts so that cybersecurity in Indonesia can be more optimal.

Therefore, Positive Technologies as an international cybersecurity company that wants to contribute to the global cybersecurity community, took the initiative to support the development of cybersecurity in Indonesia.

This company's initiative was also appreciated by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia because currently the digital transformation in Indonesia continues and producing the right digital talent is an important component so that this program can run optimally.
