Samsung has finally confirmed the presence of the Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra through its first official teaser. The long-awaited Ultra variant will complete Samsung's foldable series, following rumors that have been circulating since last year.
The teaser shared by Samsung shows that the Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra will carry a slimmer design. Meanwhile, in its official statement, it was revealed that this device carries improved performance complete with advanced AI integration to support everyday experiences.
"For years, Samsung has listened to user requests for bigger screens, better cameras, and new ways to connect and create. The demand was clear - an Ultra experience that is more than just a list of enhanced features in a smaller, more portable form factor. That's why the next chapter of Galaxy is to provide experiences that seamlessly blend art and engineering to enhance everyday interactions," said the South Korean tech giant describing the Galaxy Z Fold7.
Sleek Design, Maybe the Thinnest in Its Class
Samsung's official teaser highlights the slimmer design of the Fold7 Ultra. Although there are no exact figures yet, speculations say that its thickness will beat its predecessor, the Z Fold6 (5.6 mm when opened), and can even compete with the Z Fold Special Edition which is only 4.9 mm.
Samsung said the Fold7 Ultra was designed to provide a portable experience that does not sacrifice performance. When folded, this phone can be used comfortably for high mobility - such as finding a restaurant via AI voice control or sending messages with busy hands. When opened, the device turns into an entertainment center, workspace, or multitasking tool powered by Galaxy AI.
Powerful Camera
Samsung promises that the Fold7 Ultra will bring the best camera in its class. This is a bold claim, considering the presence of the Vivo X Fold3 Pro which has received widespread praise in terms of photography. If you look at the Z Fold Special Edition's footprint, it is not impossible that the Fold7 Ultra will also carry a main camera of up to 200MP and a periscope telephoto camera using ALoP technology.
Although official specifications have not been revealed, the combination of high-end hardware, thin design, and Galaxy AI could make the Fold7 Ultra a serious contender in the 2024 foldable flagship segment.
