The mid-school holiday of 2025 is just around the corner. Typically, people take advantage of this moment to travel, whether with friends or family. In anticipation of this school holiday period, Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana has urged the public to prioritize safety and security while traveling. This appeal is part of the government's efforts to ensure that the holiday is not only enjoyable but also safe and memorable for all Indonesian families.
"I urge all families planning to utilize the school holiday this year to prioritize safety, ensuring that this vacation truly becomes a meaningful experience," stated Minister Widiyanti in a release received by Kompas.com on Friday (19/6/2025). An example of caution is when visiting beach attractions. Tourists should ensure they adhere to safety regulations, such as avoiding restricted and hazardous areas.
Prioritize safety and legal transportation. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy advises the public to choose public transportation that is roadworthy and has official permits.
This is crucial to guarantee safety during the journey, both to the destination and while exploring tourist locations.
In addition to public transportation, the community is also encouraged to check rental fleets, such as tourist buses, ensuring they are licensed and have undergone regular maintenance. Not only visitors, but the Minister of Tourism also emphasizes the importance of attention from all stakeholders in the tourism industry. This includes transportation providers, destination managers, as well as hotels and restaurants, to always prioritize the comfort and safety of their services.
The government has even issued a Circular Letter from the Minister of Tourism to local governments, associations, and business operators, accompanied by 23 risk mitigation guideline modules. Cross-sector coordination continues to be carried out to ensure the effective implementation of the CHSE principles (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability) across various tourist destinations in the country during the school holiday period.
