The development of digital-based payment systems is increasingly rapid in Indonesia, one of which is through the launch of QRIS TAP (Complete, Safe, and Practical). This innovation is not only intended to increase the ease of financial transactions, but also as a strategic step by Bank Indonesia to expand the reach of technology to all levels of society, including remote areas.
QRIS TAP is a solution for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who need efficiency in transactions. According to data obtained from the official launch of QRIS TAP in Makassar, the features offered are designed to meet various needs, especially in the transportation and public service sectors. Rizki Ernadi Wimanda, Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for South Sulawesi Province, emphasized, "The successful implementation of QRIS TAP is the result of solid cooperation between Bank Indonesia and payment system industry players."
One of the positive aspects of QRIS TAP is its ability to increase financial literacy and inclusion. With easy access to banking services, previously marginalized people can now participate more freely in the digital economy. This digitalization is expected to bring significant changes and accelerate local economic growth.
The infrastructure and supporting network for QRIS TAP continue to be expanded, especially in the 3T (Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost) areas. This step seeks to reduce inequality in access to technology, realizing equality in the use of digital financial services. In addition, QRIS TAP can be applied in various public services, such as parking payments and market levies, which allows local governments to manage transactions more transparently and efficiently.
Payment Service Providers (PJP) play an important role in implementing QRIS TAP. In South Sulawesi, as many as 13 PJPs, both banks and non-banks, collaborate as first movers in adopting this technology. Vicky Ganda Saputra, Chief Executive of Netzme, gave a concrete example, "With QRIS Soundbox, traders from small to large scale can enjoy the convenience of affordable and integrated digital transactions."
gh various conveniences are offered, the adoption of QRIS TAP still faces challenges in terms of infrastructure readiness and the level of digital literacy of the community, as well as the need for better collaboration between payment service providers and business actors. This shows that education and socialization regarding financial technology still need to be improved to support effective implementation.
QRIS TAP offers great potential to help regional MSMEs become more competitive. With an efficient system, business actors can do better financial records, so they can manage their businesses better. This is an important step to build stronger competitiveness in the national economy.
