Honor Magic V Flip 2 Leaks, Will Bring Major Battery Upgrades

Tuesday, 08 Jul 2025

Honor last year released a clamshell phone called the Magic V Flip in the Chinese market and now it seems they are also preparing to prepare a successor to this phone called the Honor Magic V Flip 2.

This phone is promised to bring improvements to several specifications and one of the biggest changes is in terms of power in the form of a larger battery size.

Reported by Gizmochina Friday (4/7) local time, this news came from technology leaker Digital Chat Station who said that the Honor Magic V Flip 2 will be a clamshell phone in the industry that will have the largest battery with a size of 5500 mAh.

With reference, the first generation Magic V Flip has a 4800mAh cell, the recently launched Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 has a 5165mAh battery, while the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 is said to have a 4300mAh cell.

As for charging, this phone is promised to bring fast charging capabilities with support between 66 W or 80W depending on the final configuration chosen by the company.

In addition to the battery leak, the Honor Magic V Flip 2 is expected to feature a 6.8-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED main display (approx.), along with a 4-inch external cover display (approx.).

The internal display also supports LTPO technology, which should enable adaptive refresh rates for improved power efficiency.

In terms of performance, Honor has opted to use a sub-flagship Snapdragon 8 series chipset, likely pointing to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 series or a similar tier that is likely to sit just below the main 8 Elite lineup in terms of performance.

On the camera side, the phone is expected to come with a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor supported by OIS and likely using a 1 / 1.5-inch type sensor. Meanwhile, the secondary camera has no full specifications yet.

Honor has not officially confirmed these specifications, nor has it shared a launch schedule. However, if this leak is true, then the phone should probably arrive as soon as August 2025 considering that the first generation was released in mid-2024.
