Teenagers Invited To Be More "Light" Through A Healthy Lifestyle

Thursday, 10 Jul 2025

The Indonesian Ministry of Health is once again intensifying a healthy lifestyle campaign for teenagers through the event "Si Paling Megang – Menyala dengan Gerak dan Gizi Seimbang" held at Tebet Eco Park, Jakarta (6/7). Supported by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, this campaign is the culmination of a national roadshow that was previously successfully held in Samarinda last April. "The Si Paling Megang – Menyala dengan Gerak dan Gizi Seimbang campaign aims to build practical and healthy habits that are easy for young people to follow in their daily lives," said dr. Elvieda Sariwati, M.Epid, Director of Health Promotion and Community Health, Indonesian Ministry of Health in a press release. More than 500 teenagers from various schools, universities, and communities took part in the exciting and educational activities, ranging from a fun walk, healthy cooking demonstration, scavenger hunt, to health checks and nutritional counseling by medical personnel from the Tebet Health Center.

This program is part of the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) which targets teenagers as agents of change.

Throughout 2025, the campaign has reached millions of young people through social media, online workshops, app-based competitions, and public events in various cities. "This digital campaign has engaged more than 3 million young people. In the effort towards Indonesia Emas 2045, investment in youth health is essential. We are proud to support this national priority by involving our global expertise in nutrition," said Jaakko Valli, Deputy Country Director of WFP Indonesia. The campaign also features the “Si Paling Megang” mobile application that helps users record daily food intake and activities to encourage healthier behaviors. With a creative and collaborative approach, the government hopes that this campaign can build healthy eating habits and be active from a young age.
