Monday, 14 Jul 2025

The weather in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) has been observed to be getting colder, and the management advises climbers to avoid traveling during sunrise. "If you are not feeling well or cannot withstand the cold, please postpone your trip to Bromo, or visit when the sun is already shining and it starts to warm up," stated the Head of TU TNBTS, Septi Eka Wardhani, as quoted on Monday (14/7/2025). Septi further mentioned that the scenery in Bromo remains beautiful even if one does not hike at sunrise.

She also urged climbers planning to visit Bromo soon to prepare themselves, particularly regarding their health. Additionally, the management reminded climbers to wear jackets that can withstand cold temperatures, gloves, as well as head and ear coverings.

Similarly, for those who will be climbing to Ranu Kumbolo, it is advised to prepare adequately, as climbing differs from regular walking," he stated. Climbers are encouraged to equip themselves with sufficient food and beverages, wear clothing that can withstand the cold, and prepare a tent for resting.

"I am confident that professional climbers or those with experience certainly understand how to prepare for a climb," said Septi. Separately, based on information from a jeep driver in Bromo named Fendi, the temperature at the location has reportedly reached 7 degrees Celsius. "It is almost freezing in the sea of sand, it is extremely cold," Fendi told Kompas.com on Friday (11/7/2025).
