The Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, has highlighted various investment opportunities available in Indonesia, particularly in the fields of education, renewable energy, and downstream processing.
This statement was made by Rosan during the opening of the Indonesia Investment Forum (IIF) 2024, which was attended by 150 prominent business figures from the United Kingdom. The forum took place in London, England, on Friday, November 22.
"Indonesia has demonstrated its resilience amid global challenges. With stable economic growth, structural reforms, and a vision for sustainable development, we invite global investors to participate in Indonesia's economic transformation," Rosan stated, as reported on Sunday, November 24.
In light of these opportunities, Rosan encouraged business leaders in the UK to invest in Indonesia.
"With strong support from the government, we are optimistic about achieving an economic growth target of 8% over the next five years," Rosan added.
The forum, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in London, featured several key speakers.
Among them were the Indonesian Ambassador to the UK, Ireland, and the International Maritime Organization, Desra Percaya; Executive Chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Sir Tony Blair KG; and the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN), Anindya Novyan Bakrie.
Furthermore, the UK is a favored destination for Indonesians seeking higher education abroad, owing to its academic reputation and high-quality education.
The UK's commitment to supporting educational development in Indonesia is further evidenced by the presence of two British universities: Lancaster University in Bandung, West Java, and King's College London (KCL) located in the Special Economic Zone (KEK) of Singhasari, East Java.
Additionally, Indonesia prioritizes renewable energy as a key focus area.
