The Minister Of Trade Has Projected That The Transaction Value For Harbolnas Will Reach Rp40 Trillion

Trade Minister Budi Santoso expressed optimism that the transaction value during the National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) 2024 will reach IDR 40 trillion.

According to Budi, this figure represents a significant increase compared to the previous year, which recorded IDR 25.7 trillion.

"During this year's Harbolnas, we hope to achieve transactions of IDR 40 trillion, in line with the target set by the Indonesian E-commerce Association (idEA). Last year, the transaction value was IDR 25.7 trillion. We are confident that this target will be met during Harbolnas 2024," Budi stated in a statement quoted in Bali on Friday.

The transaction value of Harbolnas has consistently risen year after year. In fact, the 2023 transaction value of IDR 25.7 trillion marked an increase of 182 percent compared to the inaugural Harbolnas in 2019.

Transactions involving local products contributed IDR 12.3 trillion, accounting for 48.1 percent of the total transaction value for Harbolnas 2023.

Budi noted that local products reflect the creativity and spirit of domestic entrepreneurs, who play a vital role in the national economy.

Furthermore, to achieve Indonesia's economic growth target of eight percent by 2028-2029, close collaboration among various stakeholders is essential.

"Let us work together to promote local products by using our own goods," the Minister urged.

He also highlighted that electronic commerce serves as a means to introduce domestic products, acting as a meeting point for sellers and buyers, while enhancing branding efforts.

In this context, Budi emphasized the importance of packaging local products in a way that ensures their quality is competitive with foreign goods.

Moreover, the vast domestic market should be optimally utilized by local products. He encouraged more micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance their promotion and expand their domestic market reach through electronic commerce platforms.

The utilization of digital technology can play a crucial role in fostering customer loyalty towards MSME products.
