President Prabowo Convened The Attorney General And His Team To Discuss Issues Related To Corruption And Illegal Licensing

President Prabowo Subianto convened Attorney General ST Burhanuddin along with all Deputy Attorneys General at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday, January 13, 2025. The meeting focused on issues related to the eradication of corruption and the handling of illegal licensing, which are perceived to harm the state and hinder national development. 

During the closed-door meeting, President Prabowo reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening law enforcement, particularly in addressing corrupt practices frequently encountered in the licensing sector. 

Prabowo expressed that illegal licensing represents a significant loophole often exploited for personal or specific group interests, resulting in detrimental effects on the state. He also directed the Attorney General's Office to expedite investigations and actions against illegal licensing practices. The President emphasized the necessity of enhancing oversight systems within government agencies to ensure that licensing processes are transparent and compliant with existing regulations. 

Accompanying President Prabowo at the meeting was Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Also present were Ivan Yustiavandana, Head of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), and Yusuf Ateh, Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
