Danantara Is Tasked With Evaluating Downstream Projects To Ensure Investment Is Effective

Thursday, 13 Mar 2025

Head of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani said that Danantara was tasked by the government to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of downstream projects that would be funded by the agency so that state investment could be effective.

Rosan, who was met at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday, said that this was one of the topics discussed in a limited meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and several related ministers.

"Several programs that will be analyzed and evaluated by Danantara (are) in various fields, be it refineries with new technology or several other fields. In essence, we will evaluate independently," said Rosan, who also serves as Minister of Investment and Downstream.

Rosan emphasized that the downstream projects that will be funded and evaluated comprehensively by Danantara must be mature.

This means that projects submitted to be funded by Danantara must have all permits, both related to land, related to environmental impact analysis, and permits that do need to be processed by the relevant ministry.

The maturity aspect of the prepared project is important because Danantara will conduct a thorough examination, both in terms of risk factors, profit aspects, and impacts for the creation of new jobs for the community from the related project.

"With that (mature projects submitted for review), Danantara can conduct comprehensive evaluations. If our investment committee has stated that this is worthy of investment, we hope that it will run immediately," said Rosan.
