President Prabowo Subianto has firmly invited the private sector, both domestic and foreign, to take a bigger role in national infrastructure development. In his speech closing the International Conference on Infrastructure at the Jakarta Convention Center, Thursday (12/6/2025), President Prabowo emphasized development priorities, including the giant sea wall megaproject on the north coast of Java along 500 kilometers, which will soon begin. President Prabowo acknowledged that the role of the state is crucial in intervening to address the problems of poverty, hunger, and education.
However, for certain areas, especially physical construction, he pointed to the private sector as the key. "We need efficient partners with modern technology. I direct that in infrastructure (development) now, the role of the private sector must be greater," he said, as quoted from the website of the Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, Sunday (29/6/2025).
To attract private interest, the government is committed to simplifying and simplifying procedures. "The government must make their work easier. Therefore, I welcome centers or offices (to) facilitate. All projects are assisted, secured so that they are not disturbed by the big development plan," Prabowo added.
As a form of convenience for partners, especially from abroad, the government at the beginning of its administration has prepared an investment fund managed by the Investment Fund Management Agency (BPI) Danantara. This allows the government to participate in real investment, providing more confidence to investors.
